Natasha denies viral tape linking her to Tinubu blackmail

Suspended Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has denied any involvement in a viral audio and video recording purportedly showing her alleging that Senate President Godswill Akpabio blackmailed President Bola Tinubu to orchestrate her imprisonment.

In a strongly worded statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, Akpoti-Uduaghan distanced herself from the circulating materials, dismissing them as fabricated and malicious content designed to damage her reputation and sow discord within the federal government.

“I categorically and unequivocally dissociate myself from this video and audio recording,” she said. “At no point did I grant such an interview or have any such conversation with a journalist or any other person. The voice in the recording is not mine — it has been cloned and manipulated with clear malicious intent.”

Describing the clip as a product of digital impersonation and misinformation, Akpoti-Uduaghan said the aim was to mislead the public, tarnish her image, and destabilize the leadership of the National Assembly.

She labeled the attempt as criminal and dangerous, stressing it was a calculated abuse of technology to promote disinformation.

Reaffirming her commitment to truth, justice, and democratic values, the suspended senator revealed that her legal team has been directed to petition security agencies to uncover the source of the manipulated recordings and bring the culprits to book.

“The public is hereby advised to disregard the circulating audio and video. They are entirely false and misleading — the handiwork of desperate individuals bent on smearing the image of a law-abiding and peace-loving public servant,” she said.

Akpoti-Uduaghan also urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and resist efforts to inflame political tensions through coordinated online attacks and fake news campaigns.

“I remain steadfast in my service to the people and in the pursuit of justice and responsible governance,” she concluded.
