Africa Prudential Plc recorded strong financial performance in the first half of 2026, with profit after tax rising by 18 per cent, as the company strengthened its digital transformation drive and expanded its non-interest income streams.
The capital market solutions provider disclosed its half-year performance during an investor conference call held on Tuesday, where management outlined its financial results, growth strategy and outlook for the remainder of the year.
The company reported gross earnings of ₦4.28 billion, representing a 27 per cent increase from ₦3.34 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.
Profit before tax rose by 22 per cent to ₦2.41 billion, while profit after tax increased to ₦1.59 billion, up from the previous year's figure.
Net operating income also climbed by 27 per cent to ₦4.21 billion, as total assets expanded by 13 per cent to ₦46.53 billion. Shareholders' funds equally grew by 13 per cent to ₦12.52 billion.
The company attributed the performance to growth in its core share registration business, increased corporate action activities in the capital market, improved treasury income and wider adoption of its technology-driven products.
Speaking during the investor engagement, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Catherine Nwosu, said Africa Prudential was repositioning itself beyond its traditional registrar business by investing in digital solutions capable of generating sustainable long-term earnings.
She said the company was consciously reducing its reliance on treasury income by expanding recurring fee-based revenue from services such as digital investor solutions, Know-Your-Customer (KYC) verification, AGM technology, probate services and its SabiVest investment platform.
According to her, the strategy is designed to cushion the impact of any future moderation in interest rates while ensuring a more balanced revenue mix.
Nwosu noted that increased activity in Nigeria's capital market had created fresh opportunities for technology-enabled services that improve investor experience, operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
She said Africa Prudential would continue to invest in innovation to consolidate its leadership position in the capital market and create sustainable value for shareholders.
Management also identified key priorities for the second half of 2026, including expanding its registrar and business solutions operations, accelerating digital product development, strengthening brand visibility, investing in human capital and sustaining high standards of corporate governance.
The company said the investor call reflected its commitment to transparency and regular engagement with shareholders and the wider investment community as it pursues long-term growth.
Africa Prudential is one of Nigeria's leading providers of share registration and capital market services, leveraging technology and innovation to deliver business solutions across the country's financial ecosystem.
