Galatasaray have reportedly lowered their asking price for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen to €65m amid renewed interest from Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal.
According to Turkish publication Haberler, citing Sky Sports, Al Hilal have contacted the Turkish champions to discuss the conditions for a possible transfer of the Super Eagles forward.
Osimhen only recently completed a permanent transfer to Galatasaray following a successful loan spell at the Istanbul club. However, reports of interest from Saudi Arabia have raised fresh questions over how long he could remain in Turkey.
Haberler reported that Galatasaray would be willing to consider selling the striker if an interested club meets its €65m valuation.
The decision, however, would not rest solely with the Turkish champions. Al Hilal would also have to persuade Osimhen to move to Saudi Arabia and agree personal terms with the player.
The Saudi club are reportedly preparing for the possibility of signing the Nigerian by creating space in their squad, with veteran striker Karim Benzema potentially leaving the club.
Al Hilal are expected to intensify discussions with Osimhen's representatives in the coming days as they explore the possibility of bringing the prolific forward to the Saudi Pro League.
Osimhen has enjoyed a highly productive spell at Galatasaray since arriving from Napoli, scoring 59 goals in 74 appearances for the club.
The Nigerian has also played a key role in Galatasaray's domestic success and would be expected to spearhead their attempt to win a third consecutive Turkish Super Lig title if he remains with the club.
Galatasaray are currently regarded as the favourites for the title, with bookmakers placing them ahead of their major domestic rivals, Fenerbahce, Besiktas and Trabzonspor.
Competition for the league crown could nevertheless intensify following a series of attacking reinforcements by rival clubs.
Trabzonspor have reportedly added Mohamed Salah to a forward line featuring Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu, while Fenerbahce have strengthened their attack with the arrivals of Mason Greenwood and Romelu Lukaku.
For Galatasaray, retaining Osimhen would therefore represent a significant boost as they seek to maintain their dominance in Turkish football.
The striker's future, however, could depend on whether Al Hilal are prepared to meet Galatasaray's €65m valuation and, more importantly, whether Osimhen is willing to make the switch to Saudi Arabia.
The latest development suggests that, despite completing a permanent move to Galatasaray, the 27-year-old remains a target for major clubs seeking an established goalscorer.
